B.Tech PROJECT  :
Project  : Pro-type Bio-Mass power plant
** In the modern world power generation is a big challenge as per the sharp increase in the load and as per depletion of non- renewable sources such as coal and gas etc. To overcome this, we are looking for alternatives for source of the power generation.
** To most popular alternatives for source of power generation are non-conventional energy sources but their capital cost is very high and efficiency is very poor.
** Coming back to the conventional power generation we already known that biggest power generation is through thermal station.

There is only draw in this type of plant is coal, which is depleting day by day. So for the same thermal power plant we have to think alternative sources as an input other than coal.
** In this plant source of raw material for steam generation are bagasse, wood, husk and coal (for emergency period). The primary raw materials in the order of bagasse, wood trippers and an increase of shortage of the primary raw material coal are used as a secondary raw material for steam production. Compare to the coal, bagasse and wood trippers are cheaper and to improve the efficiency of the plant which is equipped with electro static preceptor.

M.E PROJECT  :
Project  :PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF TCSC DEVICE IN POWER SYSTEM NETWORK BASED ON PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION
Abstract  :In this presents a single-objective Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) approach to tune the parameters of a Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC), for minimizing the cost of generation, real power loss and improve the voltage stability L-index. In this paper, TCSC FACTS device is incorporated in solving optimal power flow problems using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for a standard IEEE 30 bus system. Series compensation has been successfully utilized for many years in electric power networks. With Series compensation, it is possible to increase the transfer capability of existing power transmission systems at a lower investment cost and with a shorter installation time compared to the building new, additional lines. Results for optimization of total cost with and without TCSC installation by considering the limits on generator real and reactive power outputs, bus voltages and transformer tapings have been obtained.
