Duties and Responsibilities :
Responsible for preparing high voltage equipment specifications, single line drawings, and layouts for Substation projects.
Handle the tasks of generating plans for upgrading design and in documenting work policies.
Complete Electrical design including comprehensive specs. reviews, I/O lists,
electrical schematics, single line diagrams, panel layouts, material specification etc.
Planning, supervising and commissioning support the designed projects up to handing over.

Description :
The aim of the project is to study and comparison analysis between a Suction Press DC drive of Paper Machine-3 in West Coast Paper Mills Ltd- Dandeli and simulated results obtained from the SIMULINK model.
In the Paper making process the speed of the DC drive is varied by armature voltage control, within the base speeds.
A three-phase full wave rectifier and a closed loop control system is used to obtain the desired armature voltages. The drive used in the Suction-press part in W.C.P.M. is MENTOR II , a product of Control Techniques, London. Based on the obtained parameters in W.C.P.M. a SIMULINK model is prepared in SIMULINK6.3.The simulation results obtained from the SIMULINK model for the corresponding loads and MENTOR II results are approxiamately equal.
