BE PROJECT :
Transformation And Expression Of GFP FUSION PROTEIN :
Green fluorosecnt protein (GFP) is a spontaneously fluorescent protein found in coelenterates, such as jelly fish, Aequorea Victoria.
This gene can be used used as functional transgene to study and investigate cell and its macro and micro organelles.
The objective of this project was to understand and analyse the expression of green fluorescent fusion protein.
GFP plasmid was introduced into the bacterial M12 strain by CaCl2 method known for competent cells.
The mRNA sequence of Aequorea Victoria, jelly fish was then retrieved from NCBI FASTA, and primers were designed using the online software Primer3.
The gene of interest was then amplified using PCR thermocycler.
