The aim of the project is to design and implement a digital controller for low power converters. It is required to maintain a tight voltage regulation and high efficiency. Sponsored links :
DC-DC converters are used in electronic devices. An electronic device consists of sub circuits which are operated at different voltage levels. Switched dc- dc converters are used to increase or decrease the voltage for the sub circuits. The dc-dc converters used are Buck and Boost converters. Buck converters are step down converters. The average output voltage will be lesser than the input voltage. Boost converters are step up converters. The average output voltage will be greater than the input voltage. The operation of buck and boost converter is verified using MATLAB. The switched DC-DC converter is digitally controlled.
Digital control methods are now offering good alternatives to analog approaches. Potential advantages of digital controller implementation include improved flexibility, reduced design time, improved system reliability.
In the switching converter the Mosfet switches are controlled using PWM controller. Digital PID regulator is used to regulate the output which is given as feedback to the converter. Implementation of digital controller is done on Atmega controller.Project Undertaken During B. Tech :Title : Control of an Articulated Pick and P:lace RobotVenue : Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, BangaloreTime Period :Jan 2010- June 2010Synopsis :The project was sponsored by Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics [CAIR], DRDO, Ministry of Defense, under Industrial Robot Automation program. The project aimed at developing 5 Degrees of Freedom Pick and Place Articulated Robot. The Forward and Inverse Kinematic equations of the manipulator were derived and verified using MATLAB. Cubic Spline was used as a Trajectory planner and the Robot was controlled through a computer on a VC++ platform. Kinematic Analysis verification was initially done on Matlab and was implemented. The equations derived were coded on a Visual C platform. Two types of motors were used for the robot namely Rx 64 Dynamixel motors and Servo motors. Communication with the Rx 64 motors was done using RS485 Serial Communication protocol through the computer. Servo motors were controlled using Servo controller.PAPER PUBLICATION :
