The project also involves Medical Reviewing, Database Handling, Literature Reviewing, Documentation, and Data Handling.
Worked for a clinical trial based-project which involved analysis and curation of clinical trial data from research articles and transfer of data into a client specific Oracle and excel spread sheet by literature reviewing and screening of various cancer related article from Public Domain Databases (NCBI).
Worked for a Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD) project by name LDT as a Junior Research Associate. The project involved in curation of quantitative, qualitative and statistical data by using Digitizer software from research articles and meticulous transfer of the data into a client specific Literature Data Transfer (LDT) sheet.
Worked as a Trainee Research Associate in Curator Work Bench (CWB) project involved in curation of client specific disease and target specific information by curating relevant data from various research articles belonging to sections such as expressions, interactions and mutations data of particular genes involved in various Human diseases such as Cancer Biology (Oncology) and Asthma from Public Domain Databases (NCBI) and Jubilant internal databases (Mol Sign and Path Art) and transfer of relevant biological data into client specific Oracle and excel spread sheet as per client Guidelines and Control Vocabulary. BIOCHEMICAL STUDIES IN SILKWORM BOMBYX MORI L. DURING INFECTION WITH NUCLEAR POLYHEDROSIS (NPV) VIRUS
The aim of project was the silkworm, Bombyx mori, though found to be economically important, still appears to be not thoroughly investigated, with respect to its pathophysiological aspects, of Nuclear Polyhedrosis in tropical silkworm races. In case of pathological studies, Pure Mysore race was found to be sensitive to BmNPV when compared to CSR2 race. Apart from these, the BmNPV infection in the parent generation was found to have an effect on the commercial characters like fecundity, hatching percentage, cocoon weight etc. on the F1 generation i.e., transfer of effects of viral infection from generation to generation.
The analysis of haemolymph proteins during nuclear polyhedrosis revealed that the total proteins exhibited variation both qualitatively and quantitatively. The quantitative analysis of amylase, succinate dehydrogenase showed variation. In addition, the qualitative analysis of amylase, beta esterase, superoxide dismutase activity levels were found to show variation.
The result of the above my research work has been compiled in the form of research paper and it has been published in Indian Journal of Sericulture 2009, 48(2), 126-132.
2. Project work carried out during Master Degree course (Dec 2005 Mar 2006) at Coffee Biotechnology Center, Mysore.
PLANT TISSUE CULTURE AND RAPD MOLECULAR MARKERS TECHNIQUES IN COFFEE
The aim of project was the development of a biotic stress resistant Coffee Varieties by using tissue culture i.e., callus culture, nodal culture, embryo culture, endosperm culture under different physiological condition i.e., under certain concentration of amino acids, growth regulators to obtain coffee clones. Another part of the work was to isolate DNA of coffee plant of different species by different methods and DNA polymorphism of coffee plant was obtained by RAPD using molecular markers.
