** Prime responsibility for supervising group of Contractors assigned to various areas of work, accountable for the quality assurance of work carried out by their groups.
** Have a significant co-ordination role with end-users for planning and execution of activities.
** Act as a technical reference point.
** Must ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with Qafco’s occupational Health, Quality, Safety and Environment procedures.
** Supervise Contracts scaffolding manpower to carryout maintenance activities to ensure continuous optimum operating condition of plant, equipment and systems and that all work meets quality assurance standards.
** Provide superior with regular work activity reports to enable effective monitoring of overall progress against agreed plans.
** Assess and priorities all scheduled activities in co-ordination with end users to ensure minimal process downtime and allocate appropriate resources to achieve cost-effectiveness.
** Apply technical expertise for the resolution of problems referred by contractors ensuring that they carryout safe scaffolding works in live plants to meet users requirements.
** Refer details of the nature and occurrence of problems escalated by contractors to superiors to enable analysis, determination of root causes and formulation of effective remedial action.
** Co-ordinate with superior to ensure spares and materials are available for schedule activities and that cost effective replenishment levels are maintained.
** Review and approve cold and hot work permits in order to facilitate the execution of assigned tasks in compliance with safety requirements.
** Provide input for the development of plans and budgets (including shutdowns) to ensure adequate provision has been made for anticipated activities.
** Inspect existing live scaffoldings prior to safe usage on random basis erected by contractors.
** Maintain records of entire scaffolding inspections / cost / invoicing / measurements, final approvals and activities to assess progress and ensure historical maintenance records are also accurate and up to date.
** Comply with all relevant Qafco Management system procedures in respect to Occupational Health, Quality, Safety and Environment.
** Participate in the on the job training and trainings of scaffolding crews by contractors to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary skill to independently perform maintenance tasks.
