Working Experience :
Working as a Simulation Engineer in Envision Systems India Pvt. Limited, Chennai since 22nd September 2008.
Involved in the simulation model development such as Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) and Catalytic Reforming Unit – Continuous Regeneration (CCR). This includes Scope identification for simulation, simulation P&ID creation, Pressure Flow Analysis, Material & Energy balance, modeling of all sections, Model Static and Dynamic Testing such as startup and shutdown operations and update, Instruction guide and Online Help preparation.
Involved in the upgrade and enhancement of several models like CDU, CRU-Semi Regeneration.
Worked as Senior Engineer in the production of EPICHLOROHYDRIN in Tamilnadu Petroproducts Limited (TPL), Manali, Chennai 68 from 21st April 2004 to19th September2008.TPL is a joint venture of Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation (SPIC) & Tamilnadu Industral Development Corporation (TIDCO) & is engaged in the production of Linear Alkyl Benzene, Epichlorohydrin & caustic soda.
The panel experience in Distributed Control System (DCS) Panel Operation in the Epichlorohydrin plant is briefed as follows.
Allyl chloride production unit consists of propylene preheating furnace, high temperature reactor, propylene recycle gas compressors, absorber and distillation columns.
Epichlorohydrin production unit consists of chlorohydrination tank for the formation of dichlorohydrin, dehydrochlorination for saponification of dichlorohydrin and separation of crude Epichlorohydrin by steam stripping columns and purification by azeotropic and vacuum distillation columns.
Monitor all process parameters and quality analysis reports and taking corrective action promptly.
Initiate and issue work permits with all safety measures for all maintenance and preventive jobs in plant-cold work, hot work, high elevation and vessel entry permits for process and non process areas.
Taking emergency actions when required.
Experienced in operating split range, cascade, feedback control loops and experienced in operating programmable logic control for ON/OFF control, trips & interlocks.
Job Responsibilities :
To achieve the Production Target, maintaining the Specific Consumption Ratios by :
Supervising the Operation and Control of the Process and Utilities through DCS.
Monitor Start up and Shutdown activities, ensuring adherence to the procedures.
Coordinate with the Service Department, ensuring safe work procedures and timely completion of maintenance and service activities to minimize downtime.
