Team Player.Project Undertaken :Title : " The Generatin Of Electrical Power Using Wind "Duration : February 2009 to May 2010Approved : this project entitled “ The Generation of electrical Energy by using WIND” is hereby approved by KARNATAKA STATE COUNCIL FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY during the academic year 2009-2010 INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE BANGALORE.Objective : Objective of this project is to install and generate electrical energy by using wind mill with some improved technique like automatic gearing braking and flywheel to adjust for varying wind speed.
Planned windmill have3.5kw capacity , it can be used for domestic purposes agriculture purpose, hospital, hostel lightning, and also small scale industries. Sponsored links :
We have already installed an anemometer near energy park to measure wind velocity . the measured average wind velocity is 2.2m/s. and also we have collected data from meterological department Bangalore. Depending upon this velocity we have planned to design the wind mill. It generates the power up to 3.5kw. Here we are using AC alternator this can be directly connected to load or it can be stored using batteries. In order to maintain the constant frequency of 50 hz we are using automatic generating braking system. Alight weight and strong fibre reinsforced plastic [FRP] blades have been used. Yawing system is used to utilize the wind energy blowing in all directions.Co-Curricular Activities :
