Project Title : DESIGN OF HIGH VOLTAGE BUSHINGS
The main aim of this project is to obtain the knowledge of the bushings and to find out the stress distribution using study of flux distribution. The study is carried out using finite element method. This method involves lot of mathematical calculations that requires a powerful software mathematical tool. ANSYS is the software package used for high performance numerical computation and visualization. The combination of analysis capabilities, flexibility, reliability and powerful graphics makes ANSYS the premier software for this context.
The scope of this model is defined by what is considered relevant. Features or behavior that is relevant must be included in the model and those that are not can be ignored. Modeling refers to the process of analysis and synthesis to arrive at a mathematical description that contains the relevant dynamic characteristics of the particular model.
MAJOR PROJECT :
Project Title : EMF IN POWER TRANSFORMER USING FEM.
Project involved in MAGNETIC HARMONIC ANALYSIS of a power transformer using Finite element method based commercial package namely ANSYS. . The FEM models can be applied in a derating procedure or to estimate the time evolution of the thermal overload under certain conditions.
The use of electromagnetic finite element method to estimate the impact of power system harmonics on transformer. At first, the magnetic modeling of transformers is outlined with attention for the core, windings and the external source or loads. Particular attention is paid to the foil windings. The loss computation and the modeling is discussed. The calculation of the global coupled problem using a mixed frequency and time domain approach, for the steady state as well as for a long term transient evolution is treated. These methods are applied to a 30KVA transformer.
