ACADEMIC PROJECT :
EFFECT OF RED MUD IN MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ALUMINIUM SILICON CARBIDE METAL MATRIX COMPOSITES :
This project aims to find which composition of Aluminium, Silicon Carbide and Red mud has maximum hardness and wear resistance.
Of the three different compositions of Aluminium, Silicon Carbide and Red mud, it is observed that the composite material with the composition, 70% Aluminium, 21.5% silicon carbide, 7.5% red mud, and 1% Zinc Sterrate is found to have maximum hardness and a higher level of wear resistance. Mainly, it can be used in Aerospace Technology since it is light in weight and versatile with its ductility and brittility.
